Dear Hay Family,
I am truly sorry to learn that we have all lost a friend, father and husband. Don was truly a great person. His
passing leaves a big empty spot in all our hearts.
The things that I remember most about Don were his quick wit and his kindness to his family. One thing that stands
out, and that I have remembered for many years, is one Sabbath in Sabbath School the discussion was about the man
of the house. There was a lot of talk about how the man should be in control of his family, and be the head of the
home. Edna was a little concerned that she took care of the money and paid the bills. I could tell she was a bit
distressed and felt she was taking the position of head of the house. Don saved the day when he spoke up and said,
"But I gave you the authority to take care of that." What a special man!!
I want all of you to know that I care that you're hurting. I know what it's like to loose a father. May
God be with each of you and give you peace in knowing that he loved the Lord--his earthly battle is done. Now we
each have to live our lives so we can see him again.
Very Sincerely,
Earlane |
