Sixty-five years of bliss
And it all started with a kiss.
Well, not really, it was actually a double date
That left four people in a romantic state.
Ella and Royal and Edna and Don -
From these four people two Hay families did spawn.

Together we would like to celebrate
One marriage that came from that date of fate.
Without pomp, flowers or cake
The preacher a strong knot did make.
It has lasted, and lasted, and lasted to date.
Sixty-five years of love, games and debate.

Our love we would like to share,
with this faithful, enjoyable and wonderful pair.
Join us if you please,
In the woods of Willits beneath the trees.
Bring along stories, poems or old pictures to show
We'll share from the perspective that we each know.

The date, September 19-20, is a week-end long
Filled with chatter, food, memories and song.
Please arrive for lunch, at the Buddhist temple we'll meet,
You'll find their food an extraordinary treat.
Friday evening is open for chitter and chat,
For catching up, remembering and things like that.

On Sabbath we'll meet after church for lunch,
With more visiting and laughing among the bunch.
On Sunday the beach is spectacular and near,
Only 306 curves, but it's worth it — that's clear.
If you need a room reservation, information or such,
E-mail or phone — just keep in touch.

The only presents needed is your presents it seems,
Family reunions are rear so you know what that means.
Despite all the driving, distance and fuss,
We'll be thrilled if you can arrange to celebrate with us.
By the way, this is supposed to be a surprise,
(Of course Mom is always one to surmise.)
